Busines Analyst *New*

Responsibilities include:

• Document requirements and processes using business analysis techniques such as Use Cases, Activity Diagrams, Context Diagrams and Business Process Maps.
• Identify new opportunities to improve business efficiencies.
• Evaluate IT process change opportunities, design new process and assist in ensuring the process change is adopted.
• Interface with stakeholders to obtain and develop requirements.
• Document existing processes and systems.
• Facilitate JAD sessions to develop process, gather requirement, drive design and implement in fast changing organization.
• Provide accurate time estimates to the Project Manager for the business analysis tasks.
• Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements and quality, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those must base their work on the requirements.
• Develop and review test strategy and cases.
• Provide support to the QA team through the Quality Assurance testing phase.
• Support project implementation by assisting the business with developing a training plan, providing material, and doing the training.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities, which have been gained through a combination of education and practical experience:

• Familiar with relational database concepts and client-server concepts.
• Strong presentation and training skills/experience.
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent understanding of system development methodologies.
• Able to work in a self directed environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — in both technical and non-technical environments.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and negotiations on deliverables, timelines and setting up a plan.
• Proficient with personal computer productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, MS Outlook and Project Management tools.
• Ability to think critically, make decisions and solve problems.
• Ability to prioritize issues and drive desired results.
• Pro-active and assertive with the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to deal with stressful situations and work well under pressure with strict deadlines.

• Minimum of a Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business. A bachelor’s degree is considered an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in an Information Systems Development team.
• Experience with Microsoft portal software is strongly preferred.
